Katie Nicoll - named the “#1 Best Unsigned Artist” to emerge from Dundee in 2025 by The Courier and winner of Scottish Young Live Act of the Year 2026 - is a Scottish pop singer-songwriter known for her catchy, relatable songs about life in her 20s, heartbreak and female friendship. A recent Graphic Design graduate, she has earned support from BBC Scotland, with two of her tracks named ‘Track of the Week’ in 2022 and 2024. Her 2024 single bye!!! also received the same recognition from BBC Introducing, who have consistently backed her over the past three years, praising her for having “lyrics that storytell better than Taylor Swift" - though, as a lifelong Swiftie, Katie might disagree. Most recently, in 2026, she was shortlisted as a finalist for BBC Introducing’s Scottish Act of the Year.

Originally from Kirriemuir, Katie shares her hometown with legendary AC/DC frontman Bon Scott. The town celebrates his legacy each year with Bonfest, an annual music festival held in his honour. It was at this very festival that Katie made her live debut at just 13 years old, performing nervously in front of an international crowd.

Nine years on, Katie has performed at over 300 shows across Scotland and the UK. She has independently released multiple singles - including one featured in a Ticketmaster UK advert, sold out headline shows in Dundee and Glasgow, and supported artists such as Callum Beattie, Toploader, and Marti Pellow. She is now looking ahead to releasing more music throughout 2026.
